While at Meta, I noticed that there was no forum for product or comms teams to get feedback from people with disabilities about products and communications involving disabled people.

Lacking that kind of forum, teams were relying on a handful of people who were open about their disabilities to review products and comms and many types of disabilities had no designated reviewer. I was often tapped to review social posts and comms company-wide even when I didn’t have knowledge of that particular disability.

Disability Review Board

To address these issues, I founded the Disability Review Board at Meta.

The DRB is a review board comprised of people with disabilities who provide input and recommendations based on lived experience, ranging from wheelchairs and hearing aids in avatars to training for advertisers on Meta.

I also worked with leaders across the company and across disciplines to incorporate the DRB into the product and comms launch process.
